Sonnet

This poem written by me is based on the novel, by F.Scott
Fitzgerald, "The Great Gatsby."

Sonnet
14 lines

Shall I cover my eyes to hinder sight?
Thy appearance brings pleasure to my mind.
Thou denotes the impalpable green light
Thy beauty is stunning, one of a kind.

In October, when we met each other
On that still night, I recall thy warm hand
When I had to leave, mind was in smother
Likewise, I wanted thee to comprehend.

My love for thee cant ever be broken
Years later, when I saw thee once again
Thou had married, seeming rather foreign
Promise broken, my heart swimming in pain.

As long as I exist, my love wont end
Will thou grasp my true love, will our love mend?

As you guys know, poetry has different forms.
For this particular poetry, I followed the structure of
Sonnet.
Just for those of you who do not know what a Sonnet is A sonnet
is a controlled form of poetry, consisting of 14 lines arranged
into three quatrains and a couplet. The quatrains usually
accentuate the idea or the predicament,
whereas the couplet acts as a final comment. Also, each
line is written in 10 syllables with a rhyming scheme of
ababcdcdefefgg.

comments welcome.
