Where You Really Are...

Lie still...

I've heard your laughter
as it sang clear
on my chest
I've seen your legs
bronzed from the sun
lying half in, half out,
of the bunched sheets
while you sleep.

I want to get inside you
for awhile.
No, not the way I was
earlier.
I've explored your turns,
your curves...
...the outside of you.
Now I want to know you
from the inside
where you really are.

I want to see--
--to feel
what happens inside you
when you smile,
so I'll know what you like.

Where do the words I speak
go rushing to when you hear them?
And why you react the way you do
when you recognize
my voice?

When I touch you there
and there, and there, and there,
I want to see
where that travels,
and if it really feels
that good to you upon its arrival.

Lie still...

I want to know
all I can,
...about you.
