I was dreaming,
while they built the road outside my house paved my driveway bricked the walls
Slept,
while the neighbors talked and strangers listened while hearts forged and minds merged
I wrote on air,
as signs where placed and engines roared as the sun set and winter fell
Stared at clouds,
while planes travelled birds nested, grass grew all around me the world did as it does
I imagined,
while people ate and others where fed while some walked and others where carried
I was immersed in squiggles,
while people raced and cut ribbons while people did and accepted praise
I wished, and when I awoke my room was bare my dreams like bubbles burst what I sewed from whisps and light was stark naked a fabric as invisible as its thread
When I awoke,
there was nothing there just me nothing else.
