Dance With The Dead

Heard from a lady-she said call me Baby, her line not mine, and
she asked me for some time. I said, fine, what was on her
mind. She asked if I dance with the dead...long slow simmering
types that plaid out in her head. I have on occasion but wasn't
clear on her destination so I said nothing. She said she
lived in a lie where nothing was quite as it appears. A husband
she hates, kids that hate her, and a heavy mortgage on her
soul. Her life looked perfect and her dreams all full with
dread that she's been dancing with the dead. Could
I possibly know how low this dance was leaving her? I knew
I thought but I opted not to say anything. She said she hasn't
been alive since 1985 only existed in a twisted sort of way.
She asked me once again if I ever danced with the dead. My
wife hung up before I said.....nothing.
